40 Days Health and Wellness Seize The Moment

Just wanted to officially invite you to a  40 day free online fitness challenge starting on Monday, Feb. 17th - Friday, March 28th 2014.
(I need your help finalizing a book project on a  journey to wholeness  fitness in spirit, mind and body … we  can have fun together on my project and your journey to health and wellness.)
Again…this event is totally free and you don’t have to buy a workout program unless you want to. Hey…most of us have dvd workouts  and equipment at home just begging for some attention, right?!  (I know I do.)

Secondly, if you would like supplements, resources (recipes, grocery list starters)  to help with weight loss there will be information available for your needs.

What’s up with the 40-Day challenge you may ask? Well…To kick my own  FITness  journey in HIGH gear, I thought it would be great to turn it into a fitness  PARTY.  

Please invite your sister friends and whoever else you think would like to get healthy for 2014. Even if you don’t have extra weight to lose, but just want to stay fit and encourage others in their journey, then you’re welcome to take part as well. As a healthcare professional, I’m all about 2 things:  preventative measures,  Health & Wellness via INSPIRATION and  POSITIVE CHANGE.

This will occur by email, face to face Monday walks, and conference calls. If you would like 1:1 attention that is possible too.
Here are some dvd programs that I recommend during this 40 day challenge. You might enjoy some of these as well, BUT the key is doing a workout that is fun for YOU.
 

  • Turbo Jam (loves it…ask me about this one if you’re interested. )
  •  ReFIT Revolution (Fun music & dance workout)
  • Zumba  (Who doesn’t like Zumba? Be careful with this one lol.)
  •  Tae Bo (Billy Blanks is no joke! ;)
  •  Walk Away the Pounds

Alrighty now…If you choose to take part, we will all be “meeting” in a private Facebook group where we can share inspiration, accountability, and just have a good time.   • Eat a variety of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains every day. 
  • Limit foods and drinks high in calories, sugar, salt, fat, and alcohol. 
  • Eat a balanced diet to help keep a healthy weight.
  • Be active for at least 2½ hours a week. Include activities that raise your 
  • breathing and heart rates and that strengthen your muscles. 
  • Help kids and teens be active for at least 1 hour a day. Include activities that raise their breathing and heart rates, and that strengthen their muscles and bones. 


Protect  Yourself

  • Wear helmets, seat belts, sunscreen, and insect repellent. 
  • Wash hands to stop the spread of germs. 
  • Avoid  smoking and breathing other people’s smoke. 
  • Build safe and healthy relationships with family and friends. 
  • Be ready for emergencies. Make a supply kit, make a plan, be informed.


Manage  Stress

  • Balance work, home, and play. 
  • Get support from family and friends. 
  • Stay positive. 
  • Take time to relax. 
  • Get 7-9 hours of sleep each night. Make sure kids get more, based on their age. 
  • Get help or counseling if needed.
